Website Descriptions

An artist documenting their relationship with creating art. The site houses monthly logs, a media log, journal entries, some of Mallow's art, as well as resources to aid in the artistic process.

What I like about it: I am deeply inspired by how Mallow is nurturing and sharing their relationship with art. My current relationship with art is fraught with negative feelings, and some of their insights have helped me modify my outlook. I'm blown away by all of Mallow's art, but am especially fascinated with the Krisnix art and its accompanying interpretation. I think about it often. Each piece effectively conveys a specific feeling, primarily that of pretenses, shame, and the complex power dynamics of their relationship.

What I like about it: phi1l1y describes her site as "pretty bare bones," but I think the simplicity works perfectly. The color coded links against the white background pack a punch. I think their art is really fun. My favorite corner is the abuse pile. When I stumbled upon it, I asked myself, "You can do that?" I love vulnerable spaces where people make something out of their pain. I think it gives some power back to the individual. It compells me to write about my own experiences with abuse, or otherwise relational dysfunction, especially unrequited love.

A stylish website containing blog posts about being Autistic.

What I like about it: Rachel's manifesto is a great primer into the website. That alone struck me. As with all of xyrs blog posts, I feel more understood, empowered, and proud to be Autistic.

Vashti's Room cannot be put in a box, but I can describe what you might find there. Vashti's site is versatile, primarily housing a daily diary, dream journal, and media log. You can also find Vashti's artwork, stamp and sticker collections, tarot readings, pictures of the sky, and much more.

What I like about it: I love how candid, expressive, and human Vashti is. I see myself in Vashti when she talks about identity, friendships, and dealing with mental illness. Vashti's a great writer, and infuses beauty into the mundane. I always look forward to visiting Vashti's diary.

A personal site with diary entries, thoughts, language notes, and talk of technology, including Yeger's journey with digital minimalism.

What I like about it: I was drawn to the minimalist layout; I find it sleek and effective. I was particularly affected by Yeger's piece, Are we really unique? It's comforting and makes me feel less alone and strange.

Cold Linking vs. Organic Linking- It can be valuable to attach short descriptions to your links. It provides context to your readers, and is often– as the name suggests– a more organic experience.
